Job Description
For our Finance team, we are looking for a Junior Financial Controller who plays an important role in supporting our financial processes within the Benelux region.

In this role, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and the accounting team, contributing to accurate, timely, and complete financial administration. You will support month-end closings, process financial transactions, and ensure that our financial data is reliable.

Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for safeguarding and optimizing the organization’s financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Administration & Closing

  • Support the month-end closing by preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts

  • Prepare GL account specifications for the Financial Controller

  • Prepare VAT returns (Netherlands and Belgium)

Invoice Processing & Accounts Payable

  • Process and reconcile incoming invoices and expense claims

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies

  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure correct invoice processing

  • Ensure timely and accurate payments in line with internal guidelines

  • Maintain supplier relationships

Expense Reporting

  • Process employee expense claims in accordance with company policies

  • Communicate with employees to resolve any uncertainties or discrepancies

Bank Reconciliation

  • Perform periodic bank reconciliations

  • Investigate and resolve differences

Collaboration & Optimization

  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure a smooth closing process

  • Actively contribute to process improvements and efficiency within Finance

  • Stay up to date with relevant laws and regulations within the Benelux

What do you bring?

  • A completed bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • At least 3 years of experience in a financial or accounting role (preferably within the Benelux)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • A flexible, hands-on mentality

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability

  • A proactive and structured way of working

  • Experience with Excel and accounting software (such as Sage)

  • Proficiency in English, combined with Dutch or French
