Job description

Supporting the Financial Controller in completing basic bookkeeping, clerical and accounting tasks for our Benelux organization. The Jr Financial Controller will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Main responsibilities

  • Support month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting with GL account specifications.

  • Prepare VAT filings for the Netherlands and Belgium.

  • Manage the full A/P process: record and reconcile invoices and expense reports, coordinate with departments, manage vendor information, and ensure timely and compliant payments.

  • Process employee expense reports and resolve discrepancies with employees when needed.

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate any variances.

  • Collaborate closely with the accounting and finance teams to ensure smooth closing cycles and improve overall workflows.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and stay up to date with relevant Benelux accounting regulations and financial principles.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within a Benelux environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Able to work independently while maintaining a proactive, hands-on attitude.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a structured and detail-oriented approach.

  • Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with accounting software (e.g., Sage).

  • Fluent in both English & Dutch is mandatory (French is a strong plus).
