At Altares Dun & Bradstreet, we help organizations make better business decisions using data, analytics, and innovative solutions. As a GL Accountant, you play a crucial role within our financial organization, ensuring that our financial administration and reports are accurate, complete, and timely.
As a GL Accountant, you are responsible for the accuracy of the financial administration within our Benelux organization. You work closely with the Financial Controller and Junior Financial Controller and contribute to further professionalizing our Finance processes.
Your responsibilities include:
Supporting and performing month-end and year-end closings, including journal entries and GL reconciliations;
Preparing specifications of GL accounts;
Preparing VAT returns for the Netherlands and Belgium;
Taking responsibility for the accuracy of three General Ledgers;
Monitoring cash flow;
Identifying, analyzing, and resolving discrepancies;
Thinking about and contributing to process improvements within Finance.
You are an experienced finance professional who works accurately and takes responsibility. You enjoy investigating matters, quickly spot discrepancies, and actively think about how processes can be improved and made more efficient.
In addition, you have:
HBO level of education, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field;
Approximately 7 years of relevant work experience in a financial or accounting role;
Experience in an audit environment is a plus;
Experience with Excel and accounting systems, such as Sage;
Knowledge of VAT regulations in the Netherlands and Belgium is a plus;
Good command of the English language and either Dutch or French.
Analytical and precise;
Proactive and structured;
Good communication skills;
A team player who can also work well independently;
Hands-on and not afraid to get your hands dirty.
